To ensure the bibliographic control of books, articles, conference proceedings, and all types of scientific publications resulting from postgraduate theses and scientific activities, within the infrastructure of the YÖK Open Science and Open Access System; To ensure data standardization, the international author identification number Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID), which can be obtained free of charge, is mandatory for academic staff working in higher education institutions and graduate students. It is also mandatory for graduate students pursuing a thesis-based degree and all academics to obtain an ORCID number and match it with their previous publications.

Academic staff must create a CV through YÖKSİS (Personnel Operations-CV Creation -Personal Information-YÖK Academic) system, students in Master's/Doctoral programs with theses must obtain their Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) numbers through the National Thesis Center, and academic staff who are also students must obtain their ORCID numbers through YÖKSİS (Personnel Operations-Create Curriculum Vitae-Personal Information-YÖK Academic).

Students can obtain their ORCID number by logging in with their e-government passwords at https://tez.yok.gov.tr/UlusalTezMerkezi/ and clicking on their education information, then selecting the thesis data entry form heading in this area.
