The primary mission of the Department of Mathematics is to educate mathematicians who possess independent thinking skills, a strong foundation of knowledge and competence in their field, and who can contribute positively to their country, nation, and humanity.
In this regard, the department aims to provide students with fundamental mathematical concepts and to develop, upon this foundation, the level of mathematical knowledge, analytical thinking, and modeling skills required by contemporary science and technology.
Furthermore, an important part of our mission is to educate individuals who possess the ability for scientific thinking and research at a contemporary level and who are capable of conducting academic studies in both theoretical and applied mathematics.
The vision of the Department of Mathematics is to become an innovative department in education and research that is recognized at both national and international levels and that produces highly qualified graduates.
Our department aims to train individuals who have strong mathematical and analytical thinking skills, who are open to continuous self-improvement, effective in teamwork, and sensitive to ethical values as well as environmental and social responsibilities.
In addition, our vision is reflected in our graduates’ ability to successfully pursue graduate studies and to demonstrate high levels of scientific productivity.
The mission and vision of the department have been defined with the contributions of the faculty members, students, and alumni representatives, and are reviewed periodically.
