We recognize autism and are committed to supporting our children!

Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairments in social interaction and communication skills, difficulties in reciprocal conversation, and the presence of repetitive (stereotypical) behavioral patterns. The increasing prevalence of autism worldwide has positioned it as a significant issue among children with special needs. This situation has further highlighted the importance of awareness and support initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of children with autism and their families.

Within this context, a visit was conducted by the Department of Child Development and the Child Development Club to the Çorum Autism Volunteers Association on Friday, April 3, 2026, as part of the activities for April 2, World Autism Awareness Day. During the visit, it was emphasized that child development specialists stand by children with autism and their families at all times. A mutual exchange of views was held regarding the challenges faced by children with autism and their families, as well as potential solutions to these challenges. In addition, evaluations were made concerning potential collaborations for the development of projects aimed at supporting children and their families.
