It began its educational activities on March 8, 1976, as the "Çorum Vocational School of Machinery," one of the 24 vocational schools opened in Turkey during the 1975-1976 Academic Year, in the building currently used as the Çorum Museum.
In February 1980, it moved to the location of the Çorum Education Institute, across from the State Hospital (the Old Teacher Training School Building).
With the Decree Law No. 41 concerning Higher Education Institutions, dated July 20, 1982, higher education institutions previously under the Ministry of National Education were incorporated into the newly established Council of Higher Education (YÖK). With this decree, the name of our School was changed to "Çorum Vocational School" and it became affiliated with Ondokuz Mayıs University.
In accordance with Article 10/c of Law No. 3389, published in the Official Gazette (No. 19500) on June 27, 1987, it was incorporated into the Faculty of Engineering, which was planned to be established in Çorum.
It was affiliated with Gazi University in accordance with Article 3 of Law No. 3837, published in the Official Gazette (No. 21281) on July 11, 1992.
It was affiliated with the newly established Hitit University by Law No. 5467 on March 1, 2006.
The proposal by the Hitit University Rectorate to divide the Vocational School into two entities—the Vocational School of Technical Sciences and the Vocational School of Social Sciences—was reviewed and approved at the Higher Education General Assembly Meeting on September 29, 2014.
