WHAT IS MEDEK?

MEDEK is an acronym for "Mesleki Eğitim Değerlendirme ve Akreditasyon" (Vocational Education Assessment and Accreditation). It is the name of an association that provides international accreditation registration.

It was established to enhance the qualifications of Vocational Schools (Meslek Yüksekokulları) and their graduates, aiming to contribute to a qualified workforce within the framework of Turkey's strategic development plans, and with the encouragement and support of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Driven by this motivation and the support of universities, the Vocational Education Assessment and Accreditation Association (MEDEK) was established in 2021.

In 2023, it was granted authorization by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) to accredit 83 Vocational School programs, ensuring the evaluation of their compliance with established standards, quality criteria, and performance benchmarks.
