Tribology Laboratory offers comprehensive testing and analysis capabilities
aimed at investigating the tribological performance of engineering materials
used in various industries, particularly in the healthcare, aerospace, and
defense sectors.
With
the tribometer system equipped with multi-purpose modules available in the
laboratory, the performance of advanced materials can be evaluated under
conditions that closely simulate real-world operating environments.
Within
the scope of biomaterials research, new materials are being developed to enhance
the performance of orthopedic and dental implants, and the tribological
behavior of these materials under physiological conditions is examined.
For
the aerospace and defense industries, studies focus on evaluating the durability
of advanced engineering materials under harsh and corrosive conditions.
Through
projects supported by TÜBİTAK, BAP, and MİTEK, the laboratory provides manufacturing
and testing capabilities that serve both academic research and industrial
applications, utilizing advanced manufacturing technologies.
