Our department aims to discover individuals with musical talent, knowledge, and cultural awareness, guiding them through a universal process of music education. Through theoretical, practical, and applied courses encompassing Turkish, Western, and World music cultures, it supports the artistic and academic development of its students. Adopting an approach that values the most significant works of science and art, cultural heritage, and original creativity, the department provides education based on harmonic depth, scientific perspective, and artistic productivity.
Throughout the undergraduate program, students are expected to acquire not only advanced musical techniques and skills but also creativity, productivity, and the ability to express artistic ideas in an original language, while understanding the requirements of the contemporary era and technological advancements. The program also aims to instill in students the ability to internalize both traditional and universal knowledge, develop stage discipline, and perform successfully in public.
In addition to theoretical courses, the curriculum includes conferences, concerts, field-specific courses, computer technologies, and computer-assisted music applications, as well as access to laboratory and performance facilities.
The undergraduate program in Music lasts four years (eight semesters). The department follows a first-cycle system in higher education with 240 ECTS credits in the field of Music. Upon successful completion of the program and fulfillment of the qualification requirements, students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Music.
