The Minor Program allows students who meet the required conditions to take a limited number of courses in a specific field within another degree program offered by the same higher education institution. Upon successful completion, students are awarded a Minor Certificate, which is not equivalent to a diploma.
At the time of application, students must have completed and passed all courses in their major program up to the semester of application.
To apply, a student’s Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 2.50 out of 4.00.
Additionally, students must rank within the top 20% of their class in terms of academic success and must have no disciplinary record.
Applications for the Minor Program are submitted to the relevant Faculty Dean’s Office or School Directorate with an application form and official transcript during the period announced. Students may apply as early as the 3rd semester and no later than the beginning of the 6th semester of their major program.
Students cannot enroll in more than one Double Major Program at the same time. However, it is possible to pursue one Double Major and one Minor Program concurrently.
Minor Program students must take at least 18 credits of courses offered by the department that provides the Minor Program, excluding common courses. The maximum number of credits is determined by the department’s proposal and the approval of the University Senate.
If a student cannot take a course due to schedule conflicts or the course not being offered, the department offering the Minor Program may recommend an additional semester, subject to the approval of the Faculty/School Administrative Board.
To continue in the Minor Program, a student’s CGPA in the major program must be at least 2.30 out of 4.00.
If the CGPA in the Minor Program falls below 2.30, the student will be dismissed from the Minor Program.
Students who do not take any Minor Program courses for two consecutive semesters will be deregistered from the program.
Students who complete their major program but have not yet finished the Minor Program are allowed a maximum of one additional semester to complete it. During this additional semester, they must continue to pay the student contribution fee for the program. If they register for a graduate program, they are required to pay the graduate-level student contribution fee.
