What is the Double Major Program?
The Double Major Program allows students who meet the required academic and disciplinary conditions to take courses from two different undergraduate or associate degree programs within the same higher education institution and graduate with two separate diplomas simultaneously.
Application Requirements
To apply for a Double Major Program, students must:

Be registered in an undergraduate or associate degree program of the university,

Have successfully completed all courses in the major program up to the semester of application,

Have no disciplinary record,

Have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.75 out of 4.00,

Be enrolled in the second or third semester of the major program,

Rank within the top 20% of their class in terms of academic success.
When and Where Can I Apply?
Applications for the Double Major Program are submitted to the relevant Faculty Dean’s Office or School/Vocational School Directorate within the period announced in the academic calendar or determined by the University Senate, along with the required application form and official transcript.
Can I Enroll in More Than One Double Major Program at the Same Time?
Students cannot enroll in more than one Double Major Program simultaneously. However, it is possible to pursue one Double Major and one Minor Program at the same time.
Credit Requirements
To complete a Double Major Program, students must take at least 36 credits of courses offered by the department opening the Double Major Program, excluding common or equivalent courses shared with the major program. The maximum credit load is determined by the proposal of the department and the approval of the University Senate.
What If Course Schedules Overlap or a Course Is Not Offered?
In case of overlapping course schedules, the primary major courses take priority.
Students in the day program may take evening courses if available, and students in the evening program may take day courses if necessary.
Continuation Requirements
During their Double Major studies, students’ CGPA may fall below 2.50 out of 4.00 only once. If it drops below 2.50 a second time, their Double Major registration will be terminated.
Students who do not take any Double Major courses for two consecutive semesters will be deregistered from the program.
Graduation Conditions
Students who have not yet graduated from their Double Major Program by the end of their major studies must pay the tuition fee for each additional semester of Double Major enrollment.
The Double Major Diploma is awarded only after the student has graduated from the major program.
To graduate from the Double Major Program, a student must have a minimum CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.00.
Does Failure in the Double Major Affect My Major Program?
No. Failure or withdrawal from the Double Major Program does not affect the student’s success or graduation status in the primary major program.
Is Lateral Transfer Possible in the Double Major Program?
Yes. A student enrolled in a Double Major Program may transfer to that program if they meet the institutional transfer requirements of their primary major program.
Can I Receive a Minor Certificate if I Withdraw from the Double Major Program?
Yes. A student who withdraws from the Double Major Program may receive a Minor Certificate if they have fulfilled all the requirements of a Minor Program, with the recommendation of the relevant department and the approval of the Faculty/School Administrative Board.
