Cultural Heritage Recovery after Disasters and Conflicts – Understanding, Training, and Empowerment (CHERISH) is an Erasmus+ Youth project funded by the Turkish National Agency.
Objectives
The project's primary objective is to empower youth with cultural heritage management skills in post-disaster scenarios, focusing on conservation, disaster preparedness, and response. It aims to preserve vulnerable heritage sites, enhance community resilience, and provide quality education, aligning with priorities in safeguarding cultural heritage, building resilient communities, and youth development.
Activities
The project will implement a range of activities, including
International Comparative Analysis: Research on post-disaster cultural heritage management.
Workshops: Development of educational curricula and strategies.
Youth Camps: National and international camps for cultural heritage exploration and resilience building.
Handbooks: Creation of resources on best practices and youth engagement in heritage management.
Database: Development of a post-disaster heritage protection database.
Impact
The project anticipates the following results and outcomes:
Young participants will gain knowledge and skills in cultural heritage management, enhancing their employability
and civic engagement.
The project will contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage sites and artifacts vulnerable to disasters and
