Coordination Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Coordination Committee commenced its activities in October 2023. Its duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Organising and monitoring the activities of the Student Advisory Committee.
Coordinating and monitoring the activities of the Strategic Planning and Coordination Committee and the various committees operating under it, including the Curriculum Monitoring Committee, Infrastructure and Stakeholders Committee, Assessment and Evaluation Committee, and Self-Assessment Report Preparation Committee.
Ensuring that all committees operating under its coordination carry out their activities in a consistent, orderly, and collaborative manner and comply with the deadlines communicated by the University Rectorate.

Quality and Accreditation Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Quality and Accreditation Committee commenced its activities in October 2023. Its duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Ensuring compliance with the requirements of the quality management system and requesting, initiating, and monitoring corrective and preventive actions.
Organising and monitoring activities in line with the decisions made by the Faculty Accreditation Board.
Attending meetings held by the Department Chair concerning accreditation activities.
Monitoring the effectiveness of assigned tasks.
Organising and monitoring the work of the Self-Assessment Report Preparation Committee.
Ensuring that accreditation-related documents remain up to date.

Curriculum Development Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Curriculum Development Committee commenced its activities in October 2023. Its duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Monitoring curricula and course offerings at other universities in Türkiye and abroad.
Informing the Department Chair about the curricula reviewed and making recommendations for necessary revisions.
Revising the course curriculum in line with survey results and suggestions.
Working with the Department Chair to resolve problems concerning courses identified through academic advising.
Revising course files, preparing the curriculum, and overseeing its implementation.
Organising students’ and academic staff members’ curricular and extracurricular activities during the academic semester.
Carrying out tasks assigned by the Department Board to improve the quality of education and teaching.

Infrastructure Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Infrastructure Committee commenced its activities in October 2023. Its duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Identifying infrastructure deficiencies within the Department and reporting them to the Department Chair.
Receiving and addressing requests concerning infrastructure deficiencies in laboratories and classrooms.
Forwarding maintenance and repair notifications to the Department Chair and ensuring that the reported problems are resolved.
Monitoring equipment maintenance activities.

Public Relations, Events and External Academic Staff Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Public Relations, Events and External Academic Staff Committee commenced its activities in October 2023. Its duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Updating the Department’s website to promote the Department to external stakeholders.
Coordinating relations between the Department and the media.
Publishing the Department’s accreditation and quality policies on its website.
Creating an online group to facilitate communication among graduates.
Bringing Department students and the public together through academic and scientific events, and planning and organising these events.

Research and Development (R&D) Integration Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Research and Development (R&D) Integration Committee commenced its activities in October 2023. Its duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Collecting information about academic staff members’ projects at the beginning of each academic year.
Classifying the information received.
Announcing projects reported by academic staff members to students.
Facilitating communication between project coordinators and students to encourage students’ active participation in projects.
Evaluating requests from academic staff members and students and providing appropriate guidance.

Stakeholders and Alumni Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Stakeholders and Alumni Committee commenced its activities in October 2023. Its duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Developing communication with employers and classifying the information received.
Establishing the Employer Advisory Board and participating in its meetings.
Collecting employers’ opinions and suggestions regarding the Department’s graduates and curriculum.
Administering and evaluating the Opinions and Advisory Services Evaluation Survey.
Facilitating communication between project coordinators and students to encourage students’ active participation in projects.
Receiving academic staff members’ requests for technical visits, preparing a schedule for such visits, and announcing it.
Providing students approaching graduation with guidance on career development and planning.
Strengthening communication with alumni and organising meetings.
Collecting alumni feedback and suggestions concerning the Department’s curriculum through meetings and surveys.
Supporting graduates in finding employment.
Establishing the Alumni Advisory Board, organising its meetings, and participating in them.

Course Equivalency and Transfer Committee

Established as part of the Department’s FEDEK accreditation efforts, the Course Equivalency and Transfer Committee commenced its activities in October 2023.

The Committee evaluates applications from students seeking to transfer to the Department, students requesting exemption from courses successfully completed at another university, and students requiring the recognition of previously completed coursework within the Department’s current curriculum.

In carrying out these duties, the Committee examines applications, determines the applicable principles, and submits its reports to the Department Chair of Turkish Language and Literature in accordance with the provisions of the Hitit University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Teaching and Examination Regulations, the Regulation on Transfers Between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programmes at Higher Education Institutions, Double Major and Minor Programmes, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer, and the University’s Horizontal Transfer Directive.
