Program Profile
The Tourism and Hotel Management Program is a four-semester higher education program designed to educate qualified intermediate-level professionals who are capable of working in service and operational processes within the tourism industry, assisting managerial functions, or establishing and managing their own tourism-related businesses.
Graduates are equipped with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies required by the tourism sector and may pursue careers in accommodation establishments, food and beverage businesses, travel agencies, and other tourism-related organizations.
The curriculum integrates theoretical instruction with practical training by making effective use of computer laboratories, modern educational technologies, and sector-oriented learning environments. Since tourism is fundamentally a service industry, the program emphasizes the development of professional competence, communication skills, hospitality, efficiency, ethical responsibility, and customer-oriented service. The curriculum is continuously updated in line with the evolving needs of the tourism industry to ensure that graduates possess the qualifications demanded by employers.
As one of the world's leading service industries, tourism contributes significantly to economic development, employment generation, sustainable development, and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage. Accordingly, the program aims to educate professionals capable of contributing to the sustainable development and competitiveness of the tourism sector at national and international levels.
Educational Model
The program is implemented according to the 3+1 Education Model. During the first three semesters, students complete theoretical and practical coursework designed to develop their professional knowledge and skills. In the final semester, students undertake workplace-based professional training in tourism enterprises under the academic supervision of faculty members. This model enables students to reinforce their theoretical knowledge through real-life professional experience while enhancing their occupational competencies.

Examinations, Assessment and Grading
Attendance is compulsory. Students are required to attend at least 70% of theoretical classes and 80% of practical courses in order to be eligible to take the final examination.
Students are assessed through at least one midterm examination and one final examination for each course. Additional assessment methods, such as assignments, laboratory examinations, quizzes, or projects, may also be incorporated into the midterm evaluation.
The final course grade is calculated by weighting the midterm assessment at 40% and the final examination at 60%. Assessment is based on a 100-point grading system.
