Special Invitation to Our Faculty Member from Uzbekistan for Critical Surgeries

Medicine Faculty of Hitit University has been continuing to serve all humanity by performing significiant operations that can be performed by experienced physicians around the world.

Prof. Çağatay Evrim Afşarlar, the Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Faculty Member of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences at Hitit University, blazed a trail by successfully performing 11 critical surgeries in Uzbekistan, where he went with a special invitation.

Dr. Alisher Sharipov, the chief physician of the National Children's Hospital of Uzbekistan affiliated to Ministry of Health, in Taşkent the capital city of Uzbekistan,  made a special invitation to Prof. Çağatay Evrim Afşarlar to carry out the certain operations which included the surgeries of 11 patients, including 2 children with the diseases of congenital esophagus and rectal closure.  It is mainly because that there are no experienced doctors who could perform these critical operations in Taşkent. 

Upon a special invitation, Prof. Çağatay Evrim Afşarlar went to Taşkent, with the approval of our Rectorate, and met with patients waiting for surgery at the Uzbekistan National Children's Hospital for a while.

Prof. Afşarlar said that among those who had been waiting for surgery included 2 children, 1 of whom having a disease of congenitally oesophagus and 1 child having a disease of closed anus. The other patients had tumors and required laparoscopy and videothoracoscopy.

After determining all the materials needed for the operations, Prof. Dr. Afşarlar completed the necessary preparations and performed the operations in coordination with Dr. Khasim Sultanov and Dr. Mansur Nasirov, the pediatric surgeons of the hospital, and Dr. Kamol Iskendarrov, the pediatric oncologist of the hospital.
