Hitit University, officially established in 2006, has a rich heritage that extends back to the founding of the Vocational School of Machinery in Çorum in 1976. This earlier institution laid the foundational educational framework that would eventually evolve into the university's broad academic offerings.

FACULTY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
Established in 2003 as the Gazi University Çorum Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the faculty commenced its operations by admitting students into the Biology Department and the Department of Turkish Language and Literature in the academic year 2003-2004. In 2006, upon the foundation of Hitit University, our faculty was reorganized under Hitit University Faculty of Arts and Sciences and continued to enroll students. Subsequently, additional departments including Chemistry, History, and Mathematics were inaugurated.
Currently, the faculty boasts a diverse student body of approximately 1100, enrolled across its various departments, from numerous cities within Turkey and from countries worldwide. The faculty offers a wealth of opportunities and facilities such as student exchange programs, laboratories, libraries, a gymnasium, as well as options for dual majors and minors. Furthermore, it provides on-site cafeterias and a student dining hall.

Department of Anthropology
Instituted in 2012 within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Hitit University, the Department of Anthropology is dedicated to scholarly pursuits in Paleoanthropology, Physical Anthropology, and Social Anthropology.
Education within the department spans four specialized areas. The faculty is equipped with a laboratory that facilitates the analysis of skeletal and fossil materials discovered during archaeological excavations. Academics within the Paleoanthropology section actively engage in numerous excavation and surface survey projects, including Paşalar, Çorakyerler, Kyzikos, Parion, Balatlar, and Hadrianopolis.
Department of Archaeology
As a discipline, archaeology seeks to reconstruct the past by examining the material culture produced by humans throughout history, analyzing daily life, social and cultural structures, political organization, and belief systems. The department's curriculum is designed with this understanding and is built upon scientific criteria supported by a theoretical framework. Our curriculum also aims to incorporate contemporary approaches and debates into the field of archaeology through an interdisciplinary approach.
The Department of Archaeology was established for the 2010-2011 academic year in line with the goals mentioned above, offering a curriculum developed by faculty members specialized in "Prehistory," "Protohistory and Near Eastern Archaeology," and "Classical Archaeology." The academic staff distribution within the department includes 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor, 3 PhD Lecturers, and 5 Research Assistants. The total number of undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Archaeology is 171.
Students in the department have the opportunity to reinforce their theoretical education with practical fieldwork, including participating in archaeological excavations and internships at museums. Regular technical trips and other fieldwork activities to the archaeologically rich area of Çorum and its surroundings also provide significant experiential learning opportunities for the students.
Department of History
The Department of History was established in 2006 and welcomed its first cohort of students in the 2009-2010 academic year. The main branches of study within the department include Ottoman History, Medieval and Modern European History, Ancient History, Medieval and Modern Middle Eastern History, and Antiquity. The primary objectives of the Department of History are to teach modern historical writing methodologies, enhance students' skills in utilizing historical sources, and provide comprehensive approaches to historical, geographical, and periodical subjects. These goals aim to prepare students thoroughly in the discipline, equipping them with the analytical tools necessary for historical inquiry and research.
Department of Biology
Established with the mission of cultivating individuals and researchers equipped with advanced scientific and technological knowledge and skills, the Department of Biology is dedicated to staying abreast of international scientific and technological advancements in the realm of basic life sciences. Inaugurated in the academic year 2003-2004 with an initial enrollment of 30 students, the department's primary objective is to guide studies and projects in this field.
Education and research within the department are structured around three core disciplines: general biology, botany, and zoology. Comprising an esteemed academic faculty, including one professor, two associate professors, one assistant professor, and three research assistants, the department ensures the continuity of educational activities with its cohort of 59 undergraduate students. Furthermore, graduate studies are conducted under the auspices of the Hitit University Institute of Natural Sciences.
Department of Physics
Founded in 2007, the Department of Physics embarked on its journey with the inaugural admission of undergraduate students in the academic year 2008-2009. In 2014, the department expanded its scope to include the admission of graduate students seeking specialization in distinct areas of physics, thereby enriching the academic landscape and fostering advanced research endeavors. In the undergraduate program, theoretical courses such as General Physics I-II, Modern Physics, Electronics, and Quantum Laboratories are complemented by various application laboratories to facilitate students' practical application of their knowledge.
Department of Chemistry
Established in 2007, the Department of Chemistry commenced its undergraduate program in the academic year 2007-08. The chemistry undergraduate program aims to keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of chemistry and to encourage students interested in research and development. With its comprehensive resources, modern facilities, and distinguished faculty, the Hitit University Department of Chemistry possesses significant expertise in both education and research. The department houses six research laboratories: Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory, Organic Chemistry Laboratory, and Nanotechnology Laboratory.
Department of Turkish Language and Literature
The Department of Turkish Language and Literature launched its undergraduate program in 2003. In the academic year 2008-2009, evening classes were introduced for students. The department implements a four-year undergraduate program with a curriculum tailored to meet program requirements. Additionally, in coordination with the Hitit University Institute of Social Sciences, our faculty members contribute to the Turkish Language and Literature master's program. The department conducts its studies in five fields: Modern Turkish Literature, Classical Turkish Literature, Turkish Folk Literature, Modern Turkish Language, and Ancient Turkish Language.
FACULTY OF FINE ARTS, DESIGN, AND ARCHITECTURE
The Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture was established on April 25, 2013. The faculty commenced its undergraduate activities by admitting students to the departments of painting and music in the academic year 2018-2019. Efforts to open new departments are ongoing.

Established in 2013, the Department of Music began its educational activities by admitting its first students in the academic year 2018-2019. The department's facilities include specially designed acoustic wooden piano classrooms, individual practice rooms, and classrooms. These facilities are conducive to individuals' personal musical endeavors. Additionally, the campus houses a conference hall affiliated with the faculty, where concerts and recitals can be held.
Department of Painting
Established in 2013, the Department of Painting adopted an active educational approach based on developing creative personalities in the academic year 2018-2019. The program aims to specialize individuals in areas such as art philosophy, art sociology, and art and aesthetic theories, while providing knowledge and technical skills. To achieve this goal, courses are conducted in dedicated workspaces equipped with necessary infrastructure and equipments.

The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) was established as part of Gazi University in 1997 under the name Gazi University Çorum Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The department commenced its educational activities in the academic year 1998-1999 with 70 students admitted to the Gazi University Department of Business Administration and graduated its first cohort by the end of the academic year 2001-2002. In 2006, it became affiliated with Hitit University.

Established within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Hitit University in 2012, the Department of Finance and Banking aims to provide theoretical education in subjects such as mathematics, statistics, basic law, money-banking credits, financing, computerized financial analysis, investment, project valuation, international finance, risk management, financial instruments, and institutions.
Our students continue their education in all four courses offered by our department. In addition to undergraduate degrees, our department also provides graduate opportunities. We offer two master's programs (Banking and Finance, and Islamic Banking) and a doctoral program (Banking and Finance) in our graduate programs.
Department of Economics
The primary objective of this program is to provide students with a broad perspective on approaching economic events and problems in real life, as well as to equip them with the skills to apply current analytical tools to solve these problems. To achieve this goal, the undergraduate program of our department is based on fundamental areas such as Economic Theory, Applied Economics, Economic History, Economic Policy, International Economics, and Economic Development.
The courses in the undergraduate program are taught in Turkish. In the Department of Economics, first-year courses include subjects related to other departments such as Business and Political Science. Until the second year, students can choose courses according to their interests and specialize accordingly. The diversity of elective courses enables students to develop their knowledge and skills in their areas of interest, preparing them effectively and consciously for both professional and academic life. The Economics Department covers four main areas of specialization: Economic Theory, Economic Policy, Economic Development, and International Economics and Economic History.
In addition to undergraduate degrees, our department also offers a master's program. The Economics Master's Program aims to enhance students' expertise in the field of economics and develop their capacity to conduct economic analysis and scientific research with theoretical and practical knowledge. In light of contemporary theoretical and empirical developments, the Economics Master's Program is designed to enable students to analyze current economic issues and economic policies, as well as their potential impacts.
Department of Political Science and Public Administration
The Department of Political Science and Public Administration offers two undergraduate programs: Turkish Program and English Program. The Turkish Program of the Hitit University Department of Political Science and Public Administration has had a long and pioneering tradition in political and administrative studies in Turkey since 2006. Established in 2018, the Department of Political Science (%100 English program) offers programs for undergraduate degrees. Since the Fall Semester of 2018-2019, it has been admitting students. In line with the university's tradition of welcoming international students, the Department encourages foreign students to apply.
The department specializes in the subfields of Political and Social Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Legal Sciences, and Urban and Environmental Sciences, and offers a rich curriculum including courses provided by various disciplines (economics, business administration, labor economics, international relations, sociology, philosophy, and history). The courses and teaching methods in the program aim to provide students with fundamental knowledge in the field as well as cultivate an analytical and inquisitive perspective.
Department of Public Finance
The Department of Public Finance was established in 2006 to meet the needs of individuals who have received education in financial matters from both the public and private sectors. In our department, financial and economic events related to both the public and private sectors are analyzed with knowledge of economics and law.
The department offers a rich curriculum specializing in the subfields of Public Finance, Public Law, and Budget and Financial Planning Theory, and provides courses from various disciplines (political science, economics, business administration, and labor economics). Additionally, our department offers a graduate program as well. The Public Finance Master's Program aims to enhance students' knowledge to the level of expertise in the field of finance and develop their capacity to conduct financial and policy analysis and scientific research with theoretical and practical knowledge.
Department of International Relations
The Department of International Relations at Hitit University offers two programs: an undergraduate program in English International Relations and a graduate program in Turkish International Relations and Security Studies. The undergraduate program will commence education in English in the 2020-2021 academic year and will accept its first students in 2020. The undergraduate program consists of three main sections: International Politics, Political History, and International Law.
The master's program in International Relations and Security Studies began accepting students for the 2019-2020 academic year. It is an interdisciplinary program that includes distinguished professors and academics from various fields such as political science, history, law, sociology, migration studies, and international relations. The program has 20 enrolled students, one of whom is an international student.
Graduates of the Department of International Relations have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of employment fields. Based on the knowledge, skills, and competencies they acquire through their education, they can find employment opportunities both domestically and abroad, in the public or private sector. Some of the places our graduates can work, characterized by various titles and job descriptions, include: Public Institutions, Research Centers, International Organizations, International Companies, and international/local NGOs.
Department of International Trade and Logistics Management
The Department of International Trade and Logistics Management was established in 2014. The department's faculty members are academics with various expertise and interests in international trade, economic policies, and marketing. The curriculum in International Trade and Logistics offers courses that provide valuable information at every stage of professional life. The courses include Introduction to International Trade, Introduction to Logistic Behavior, International Marketing, International Transportation, supply chain management, training in international trade software with banking and foreign exchange transactions, customs procedures, international finance, warehouse management, and industrial project logistics. Additionally, the department offers technical English courses every semester and the option to learn a second foreign language (Spanish, Russian, or German).
FACULTY OF THEOLOGY
The Faculty of Theology at Hitit University was established under the name of Gazi University Çorum Faculty of Theology. The faculty began its educational activities in the 1993-1994 academic year with 30 students. The faculty provides education in the field of religious sciences. The duration of education at our faculty, including the compulsory preparatory year, is five years.
Theology Department
The language of instruction is Turkish. This program aims to educate students in the fields of Islamic Sciences and Religious Studies. The curriculum includes compulsory and elective courses in Arabic, Quran Reading and Tajweed, Tafsir, Hadith, Islamic Law, History of Sufism, History of Islamic Sects, Kalam (Islamic Theology), Islamic Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Sociology of Religion, Psychology of Religion, Religious Education, History of Religions, Philosophy of History, Logic, Turkish and Islamic History, Turkish Islamic Literature, History of Turkish Islamic Arts, and Religious Music.

The Department of Computer Engineering was established in 2012 and will admit its first undergraduate students in the fall of 2020. Our department encompasses the application of algorithmic processes encountered in hardware and software. It also develops solutions to problems encountered in technological, economic, scientific, and social domains.
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Hitit University was established in 2012. The undergraduate program was first launched in the 2017-2018 academic year. The department is divided into 7 sub-disciplines: Theory of Circuits and Systems, Electronics, Electrical Machines, Telecommunications, Electrical Installations, Control Systems, and Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques.
The theoretical courses in the undergraduate program are supported by practical application laboratories, including Electronics Circuits, Circuit Analysis, Digital Circuit Design, Electrical Machines, Communication, Control, and 3 PLC application laboratories. Our laboratories used in undergraduate education are well-equipped with sufficient training sets to enhance the practical skills of our students. Additionally, laboratory classes are organized in groups to allow students to conduct experiments more comfortably and to maximize their learning outcomes. Each student is provided with a set of experiments to perform.
Department of Industrial Engineering
The Department of Industrial Engineering was established in 2006 and accepted its first undergraduate students in the fall of 2019. The department is dedicated to educating engineers with highly advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong systems-oriented approach. Our graduates will have a robust foundation in the core competencies of engineering and will also have a good understanding of management skills. Students are required to complete a 30-day internship during their undergraduate degrees. Over eight semesters, our students typically engage with industrial organizations.
Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Department began its educational activities in the 2000-2001 academic year with 25 students. Secondary education started in the 2003-2004 academic year. The department houses seven laboratories, including a Mechanics Laboratory, Thermodynamics Laboratory, Energy Laboratory, Manufacturing Laboratory, and 3 Research Laboratories.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Hitit University hosts interdisciplinary areas such as mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, control, machine theory, manufacturing, and energy systems. The mechanical engineering curriculum is based on a core program that aims to enhance student skills in analysis, computation, and experimentation, provide a broad overview of all engineering disciplines, and develop general problem-solving and decision-making processes.
FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
The Faculty of Health Sciences was established in 1996 as a Health College and was transformed into a Faculty of Health Sciences from the Health Higher School in 2018. The Faculty of Health Sciences offers four-year undergraduate programs in Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Child Development, Health Management, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Social Work, and Midwifery.

Nursing Department
The duration of the Nursing program is four years. The language of instruction is Turkish, and the curriculum includes an advanced-level professional English course. The curriculum is fundamentally structured around human health, the environment, and nursing within the scope of preventive health care. Our educational program comprises general courses, departmental courses, and clinical practices that help students gain experience in acute care and public health. This program aims to enable a graduate nurse to maintain and enhance evidence-based care, education and research, counseling, and leadership. Our department features fully-equipped nursing skills laboratories, computer labs, and a library. At our university, students have the opportunity to express themselves to international standards as they prepare for their professional careers.
Child Development Department
The Child Development Department at Hitit University was established in 2011 and began its educational programs with 60 students in the Fall semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. Child development specialists can manage and create projects in institutions related to children and families; they can also advise, conduct, and review projects, assess children’s developmental and skill areas (mental/cognitive, language, motor, social and emotional, personal care), monitor their development, and prepare programs that support the development of children and their families.
Their responsibilities include educating and supporting families on developmental issues; providing education, guidance, and consultancy regarding the children’s development, health, and education; monitoring developments in hospitals, setting educational goals for individual and group activities, conducting in-service training in various publications, and developing educational programs for toy design and children's books, as well as consultancy and supervisory activities.
Health Management Department
Health management involves planning, organizing, mobilizing, and monitoring material and human resources to maintain and improve the community's health level. It is a process that encompasses interconnected social and technical functions and activities within a formal organization aimed at achieving pre-determined goals through human and other resources. The Health Management Department at Hitit University was established in 2014 and was affiliated with the Health College in 2017. Our application to accept students for the 2018-2019 academic year was approved by the Higher Education Council.
Nutrition and Dietetics Department
The Nutrition and Dietetics Undergraduate Program is an interdisciplinary education program that combines nutrition sciences with the theory and practice of dietetics. It has a four-year duration, with Turkish as the language of instruction, supplemented by professional English training. Upon completing the four-year education, students are eligible to receive a ‘Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics’. The curriculum is primarily designed to provide intensive training in nutrition science and professional practices. It covers core study areas such as biochemistry, physiology, ethics, and communication, as well as practice-oriented areas like clinical dietetics, community and public nutrition, and management of mass nutrition systems.
Social Work Department
Social work, both a discipline and profession, examines numerous complex interactions between individuals and their environments. The aim of social work is to fully develop every individual's potential, enrich their lives, and prevent dysfunction. The social work profession addresses barriers, inequalities, and injustices in society, focusing on problem-solving and change to create a more equitable and improved living conditions society. Social work also responds to crises and emergencies as well as everyday personal or social issues. The Social Work Department aims to train expert professionals capable of intervening with disadvantaged individuals who are in need of help or care, experiencing violence, or facing financial difficulties.

Coaching Department
This department focuses on developing individuals who love working with people and possess high communication skills, self-discipline, and leadership qualities. The educational curriculum is primarily centered on movement training. Our goal during the education and teaching process is to train coaches who continuously conduct research in sports-related areas to enhance the performance of our athletes and improve the quality of life within our community.
Sports Management Department
The Sports Management Department aims to educate capable sports managers. The program includes courses and topics in law, business, management and organization, communication, and marketing.
Physical Education and Sports Department
The language of instruction is Turkish. The curriculum includes educational sciences, educational psychology, sports psychology, human anatomy and kinesiology, exercise physiology, science of education, psychomotor development, and teaching principles and methods.
Recreation Department
The Recreation Department at Hitit University Faculty of Sports Sciences began its educational activities in the 2018-2019 academic year. The department aims to nurture students capable of planning creative, high-quality activities. Students in this department receive education in business, economics, communication, and tourism.
FACULTY OF MEDICINE
The Faculty of Medicine was established in 2006, with its first graduates completing their medical education at the end of the 2015-2016 academic year. As of today, the faculty boasts 181 faculty members across 44 departments and is currently educating 321 students, including 5 international students, distributed as follows: 130 in the first year, 121 in the second year, and 70 in the third year.
Since 2012, Hitit University has been utilizing the Çorum Erol Olçok Education and Research Hospital as its research and application facility. The hospital is a tertiary medical center with a capacity of 770 beds and 120 intensive care units, encompassing general, surgical, internal medicine, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, pediatric, and neonatal intensive care units.
Equipped with advanced technology, the hospital features 30 operating theaters, two angiography units, a cardiac rehabilitation unit, a sophisticated radiology department, a chemotherapy unit, a hemodialysis unit, an in-vitro fertilization center, a modern interventional endoscopy unit, and various diagnostic and interventional units serving patients in the region and nearby cities.
This hospital offers medical students the opportunity to observe various diseases diagnosed and treated under the guidance of our faculty members, enhancing their learning curve.

Anatomy Department
Founded in 2011, the Anatomy Department teaches courses in the first two years of medical education. A total of 290 hours are devoted to anatomy courses, with 198 being theoretical and 92 practicals. The theoretical courses aim to teach students the anatomical structure of the human body, including the skeletal muscle system, the anatomy of the heart and circulatory system, the respiratory system, the endocrine and urogenital systems, and the anatomy of the brain and nervous system. A student laboratory is available for practical anatomy courses, which form the foundation of clinical training; practicals are conducted using models and cadavers.
Biostatistics Department
Established in 2011, the Biostatistics Department is part of the Faculty of Medicine, offering Biostatistics and Informatics courses (30 theoretical and 228 practical hours in total) to medicine students and also provides biostatistics courses to students from other faculties and institutes at Hitit University.
Medical Biology Department
Established in 2011, the Medical Biology Department offers both theoretical and practical courses in basic and current medical biology concepts during the first year of medical education.
Physiology Department
Founded in 2011, the Physiology Department conducts courses in the first two years of medical education, totaling 183 hours, with 163 being theoretical and 40 practicals. Theoretical courses aim for students to understand the functions of the human body at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organ system levels and to learn about the body's interactions with various factors. A student laboratory is available for practical physiology courses, where students perform clinical foundational practices such as respiratory function tests, blood pressure measurement techniques, complete blood count tests, EKG, EMG, and EEG.

Established in 2011, this department teaches "Histology and Embryology" both theoretically and practically in the faculty’s first and second-year curriculum. Medical Biochemistry Department
Founded in 2011, the Medical Biochemistry Department offers courses in the first and second years of medical education, including both theoretical and practical lessons to teach basic and current medical biochemistry concepts.
Medical Microbiology Department
Established in 2011 at Hitit University, the Medical Microbiology Department provides theoretical and practical education to medical students in their first, second, and third years. Compulsory rotations during specialization training include general microbiology, immunology, virology, molecular microbiology, bacteriology, mycobacteriology, ecology, parasitology, hospital infections, laboratory management and ethics, and blood center. External department rotations include Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, Pediatric Health and Diseases, Medical Biochemistry, and Public Health.
GRADUATE SCHOOL INSTITUTES
In 2020, the Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Science Institutes at Hitit University were consolidated under one umbrella to establish the Graduate School of Hitit University. The Graduate School continues to offer a range of educational programs including 34 master's programs with thesis, 8 non-thesis master's programs, and 15 doctoral programs.

We acknowledge the increasing global interest in the Turkish language and culture and take pride in the significant role played by Hitit TÖMER (The Center for Turkish as Second Language) in educating international students. As an institution, we strive to connect students with the rich heritage and culture of Turkey by providing comprehensive Turkish language education.

HITIT UNIVERSITY APPLICATION TIMETABLE
Hitit University attaches serious importance to the applications of international students to our university. Considering the experience gained in the last three years and the feedback of the students, a sustainable and student candidate-oriented application/evaluation and enrollment calendar has been created. There are three application/evaluation windows in each semester. Pre-registration means that a student who has to take Turkish preparatory education must register at TÖMER. Turkish exempt students are required to pay the tuition fee for the semester in which they are enrolled.
