The Department of Archaeology at Hitit University adopts an educational policy consistent with the mission of the faculty and the university, and shapes its four-year curriculum accordingly. Similarly, the department determines the core objectives (mission) of the university and faculty as its own goals and regards achieving this vision as a corporate objective.

The Department of Archaeology undertakes the mission of being a unit that conducts education, research, projects, and fieldwork in light of universal values; that educates individuals who will take on roles in various areas of social life, possess critical thinking, are inquisitive, research-oriented, open to change and development, productive, and creative; and that contributes to scientific research, and social and cultural life.
In line with this, the department is committed to the following principles:
To instill in students a scientific research culture by enabling them to identify, understand, analyze, and comprehend the dynamics of archaeology stretching from the past to the present.
To teach students archaeological research methodologies, enabling them to reach accurate information by selecting appropriate techniques during field research and analysis phases.
To equip students with academic knowledge, while also fostering the capacity to uphold local, national, and universal values, and increasing their awareness of these values.
To provide in-depth information regarding the emergence of humankind, its cultural diversity, and its change over time, thereby instilling the ability to interpret and establish cause-and-effect relationships concerning the development of human history.
