⚖️ Ethical Principles

The publication process at Hitit University Publications is designed to ensure the objective development and dissemination of knowledge. The quality of the process reflects both the academic integrity of the authors and the institutions supporting them. Reviewed works embody and promote the scientific method. Therefore, it is essential that all stakeholders—authors, readers, researchers, publishers, reviewers, and editors—adhere to established ethical standards.

Hitit University Publications expects all parties involved in the publication process to uphold the ethical responsibilities outlined below, in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and policies.

🚫 Violations of Scientific Research and Publication Ethics

  • Plagiarism: Presenting others’ ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures, or works as one’s own, in whole or in part, without proper citation in accordance with scientific norms.

  • Fabrication: Producing data that is not based on actual research; modifying or manipulating data to appear as if derived from real research; reporting or publishing fabricated data; presenting fictitious research as if it were conducted.

  • Duplicate Publication: Submitting multiple works containing the same research results as separate publications for academic evaluations or promotions.

  • Salami Slicing: Fragmenting the results of a single research study into multiple publications inappropriately, without proper cross-referencing, to present them as separate works in academic evaluations.

  • Other Ethical Violations:

    • Failing to acknowledge the contributions of individuals, institutions, or organizations that supported the research.
    • Not adhering to ethical standards in research involving humans or animals.
    • Disregarding patient rights in publications.
