Hitit University Mechanical Engineering Department started undergraduate education under Gazi University with 25 students in the 2000-2001 academic year. Starting from the 2003-2004 academic year, II. Our department, which started accepting students for education, was affiliated with Hitit University, which was established in 2006. Currently, a total of 428 students continue their undergraduate education in our department, 321 in Regular Education and 107 in Evening Education.
The Mechanical Engineering Master's Program started accepting students in the 2009-2010 academic year, and the Doctoral Program started accepting students in the 2012-2013 academic year. To date, 63 master's and 6 doctoral students have graduated from graduate programs and currently 51 master's and 18 doctoral students continue their education and training activities.
The current academic staff of our department consists of faculty members with doctorates from reputable domestic and international universities. The current academic staff includes 5 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 7 Assistant Professors, 3 Lecturers, and 3 Research Assistants.
We have mechanical workshops and laboratories in our department. Our laboratories have many devices and experimental sets related to manufacturing, mechanics, thermodynamics and energy. Why Should We Choose Hitit University Mechanical Engineering Department?
Applied Engineering Education (UME) 7+1 Education Model has been implemented in our department since the Spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. With this program, engineer candidates enrolled in our department's undergraduate program have the opportunity to receive practical training in private sector workplaces or R&D centers in the last period of their education process.
It is aimed to increase the professional knowledge of our department students by organizing technical trips to industrial organizations during extracurricular times. Our department organizes seminars, courses and certificate programs to increase the professional knowledge of our students.
Within the scope of ERASMUS+ Student Education Mobility, our department has agreements with different universities in Romania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, and students of our department have the opportunity to spend a semester studying in a foreign country.
There are completed and ongoing 21 TUBITAK Student projects in our department - 14 of them are within the scope of TUBITAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program and 7 of them are within the scope of TUBITAK 2209-B University Students Research Projects Support Program for Industry.
Our university attaches great importance to the development of our students in social and cultural aspects. In this context, various artistic and concert activities are organized at different times throughout the year.
