Master
The establishment of the Master’s Program in Islamic History and Arts was approved at the General Assembly of the Council of Higher Education on 22 July 2008.
The primary objective of the Master’s Program in the Department of Islamic History and Arts is to enable students to acquire the ability to conduct scholarly research, access information, and critically evaluate and interpret academic data. The program aims to train qualified and analytically minded researchers who can produce original knowledge in the relevant disciplines and disseminate their findings through national and international publications.
The Master’s Program with Thesis consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course, and a thesis, with a minimum of 21 credits. The seminar and thesis components are non-credit and evaluated on a pass/fail basis. Upon successful completion of the program and fulfilment of all qualification requirements, students are awarded a Master’s degree in Islamic History and Arts.
The duration of the Master’s Program with Thesis is four semesters, excluding any preparatory period, beginning from the semester in which the student first registers for the courses of the program, regardless of whether the student enrolls in each subsequent semester. The program must be completed within a maximum of six semesters.
