According to Article 22 of the Hitit University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, students are required to attend at least 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of practical courses. Students who do not meet the attendance requirement are not allowed to sit for the final exam of the respective course.

With the University Senate Decision dated 13.08.2024 and numbered 2024/104 being repealed, the following new rules will apply starting from the 2025–2026 Academic Year:

New Rules on Attendance for Repeated Courses

  • If a student repeats a practical course or a course previously failed due to non-attendance, attendance is mandatory.

  • If a student repeats up to 3 courses solely due to failure (and had previously fulfilled the attendance requirement), attendance is not required.

  • If a student repeats 4 or more courses (including electives) solely due to failure, attendance is mandatory, even if the requirement was fulfilled before.

In Summary

  1. Students who previously did not meet the attendance requirement must attend again.

  2. Even if attendance was previously met, students failing 4 or more courses must attend again.

  3. Students failing 3 or fewer courses do not need to attend again, provided they had previously met the attendance requirement.
