There is no mandatory internship requirement in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration. However, students may undertake voluntary internships in the public or private sectors, based on their individual interests and career goals.
Students who wish to complete a voluntary internship are provided with official documentation and approval letters upon request, as required by the host institutions.
In addition to personal internship arrangements, students are encouraged to benefit from the National Internship Program, coordinated by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, Human Resources Office. This nationwide platform offers equal-opportunity access to internship placements in both the public and private sectors, based on merit and qualifications.
The system enables students to be matched with internship positions according to their performance and skill profiles. Employers evaluate and offer internships solely based on objective eligibility scores, while students are free to choose among the offers they receive. This structure serves as a bridge between academia and the labor market, helping students gain meaningful professional experience before graduation, and supports continuous curricular development in higher education.
Promotional and orientation activities related to the National Internship Program are carried out at both faculty and departmental levels by the Career and Alumni Office representatives. Efforts are made to raise awareness, assist students throughout the application process, and improve their access to employment opportunities after graduation.
