The Department of Islamic History and Arts aims to explore the historical development of Islam from its birth to the present day and to examine the major political, social, cultural, literary, and artistic events that have shaped Islamic history. The department aims to cultivate students who are competent in conducting scientific research in the department's main disciplines, knowledgeable about and able to develop solutions to problems in their field, embrace scientific thought and ethical principles, and possess the qualities of inquiry, development, productivity, and participation in academic matters.
It supports the use of Western languages, as well as Arabic and Ottoman Turkish, in interdisciplinary studies, as required by the field. Another aim of the Department of Islamic History and Arts is to examine all aspects of Islamic history and civilization, conducting scientific research at both undergraduate and graduate levels to contribute to scientific knowledge, producing scientific results, and sharing these with relevant parties.
