To enable archaeological excavations and restoration projects conducted under the leadership of foreign scholars in Türkiye to be carried out over longer periods throughout the year and to improve the efficiency of these activities, it has been deemed beneficial to appoint a Turkish scholar as a “Coordinator” to archaeological excavations led by foreign scholars. The Coordinator will be responsible for carrying out activities within the scope of the “Heritage for the Future Project” and ensuring coordination with foreign excavation directors.

Within this framework, pursuant to the approval of the Department of Excavations and Research of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, dated 28 January 2025 and numbered 6286324, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kudret Sezgin of Hitit University was appointed as the “Coordinator” for the archaeological excavations at the ancient city of Limyra.
