The history of the Department of Business Administration dates back to before the establishment of Hitit University. It was the first department established within the Çorum Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences under Gazi University in 1997. The department began admitting students in the 1998–1999 academic year and graduated its first class in 2001–2002. When Hitit University was founded in 2006, the Çorum Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was transferred from Gazi University to Hitit University. Since then, the Department of Business Administration has continued its educational activities under Hitit University. Between 2006 and 2018, a total of 886 students graduated from the department.
Due to fluctuations in student preferences nationwide, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) temporarily suspended new student admissions to the program in the 2019–2020 academic year. However, the department continued its educational activities semi-actively with current and international students until 2023. In the 2023–2024 academic year, the department was reinstated in the national university placement guide and resumed full operations with an intake of 30 students.
The Department of Business Administration consists of four main divisions: Management and Organization, Accounting and Finance, Production Management and Marketing, and Quantitative Methods. Its mission is to train highly qualified professionals to meet the needs of both the public and private sectors.
The undergraduate program spans four years and aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to plan, manage, and supervise activities that enhance organizational efficiency. During the early semesters, students take foundational courses such as mathematics, statistics, economics, and law, while in later years, they study subjects like production management and marketing, management and organization, accounting, finance, law, and computer applications. The curriculum not only provides theoretical knowledge but also emphasizes practical and technological skills, preparing students for the dynamic demands of the business world.
The Department of Business Administration prepares its students to face the challenges of both national and international markets. It particularly supports an interdisciplinary approach that integrates administrative sciences, economics, and social sciences.
