Climate change, biodiversity decline, natural resource depletion, and environmental pollution are no longer distant threats; they are urgent realities of our time. In this context, higher education institutions play a critical role in educating and empowering societies to build a more sustainable future. As a demonstration of its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,  Hitit University developed the Sustainability Literacy and Awareness Assessment to assess the knowledge levels of its academic and administrative staff and students on sustainability issues, their environmentally responsible behaviors, and the importance they place on sustainable values  .
