4.3.1 Publicly available resources (lifelong learning)
To ensure easier and faster access to the information needed by our readers with disabilities, all printed materials are scanned and used free of charge using the Eye Pal scanning system. For visually impaired users, 689 audiobooks and pages opened on computers and the internet are read to them using the Jaws 13 program. A computer has been allocated for disabled users, and staff is assigned to provide guidance and counseling services.
In addition, with the protocol signed between our University and Boğaziçi University Visually Impaired Education and Technology Laboratory (GETEM), our visually impaired users are now able to access thousands of audiobooks at GETEM with a password they obtain from the Central Library.

This opportunity is available to all visually impaired citizens. You can find information about the library at the link below.
4.3.2 Public events (lifelong learning)
Our university holds public-oriented events that bring together all segments of society with education and scientific activities. Within this framework, initiatives such as the “Science and Technology Festival” provide widely accessible panels, workshops, exhibitions, and talks. These events offer students, academics, local community members and individuals of different age groups the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, develop scientific thinking skills, and engage with technology.

The HİTİTSEM (Continuing Education Application and Research Center) offers short-term open courses, certificate programs and professional training sessions for individuals who are not enrolled as degree students. For example; under “Personal Development Certificate and Training Programs,” headings such as “Speed Reading Techniques with Comprehension” and “Effective Communication with NLP Principles” are offered. Additionally, in the health field, courses such as “Basic and Advanced Clinical Applications Course,” “Diabetes Education,” and “Breast-feeding Consulting Education” are provided. 4.3.4 Off-campus educational activities
Hitit University actively conducts educational and volunteer activities outside the campus in community settings. For instance, university students and student clubs implement special classes, workshops, awareness events and skill-building activities in local schools, youth centres, and various community groups through projects supported by the ÜNİDES (University Student Clubs Collaboration and Support Program). These initiatives enable students to contribute to society, participate as volunteers in educational environments and engage with local communities, while also expanding regional education opportunities.
4.3.5 Inclusive participation policy
This commitment is clearly outlined in our updated Community Service Activities Directive. Our University guarantees equal access to these initiatives for all individuals, regardless of ethnicity, religion, disability status, immigration background, or gender, ensuring an inclusive and equitable environment for participation.
