Our university engages in information-sharing and capacity-building efforts with local authorities and public institutions directed at policymakers and law-makers. For example, under the “Disaster Awareness Training Collaboration Protocol” signed with the Çorum İl Afet ve Acil Durum Müdürlüğü, university staff and local stakeholders receive training on disaster awareness, risk reduction and response capacity. Through such initiatives, our institution contributes to supporting decision-making processes in public agencies and strengthening local governance mechanisms.

17.2.2 Intersectoral dialogue on the SDGs

Our university engages in and initiates multi-sectoral dialogue platforms aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For example, through the “10 Thousand Green Lives, 10 Thousand Green Women Project” walk event, the local community, non-governmental organisations and the university community collaborate to raise awareness on addiction prevention and youth health and well-being.

17.2.3 International cooperation and data collection for the SDGs

The university provides sustainability and SDG-related data to the Times Higher Education Impact Ratings, QS Sustainability Ranking and Greenmetric..

17.2.4 Collaboration for SDG best practices

Our university develops international best-practice models and comparative approaches to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through international collaboration and research. For example, the project titled “An Integrated Model for Strategic Excellence in Higher Education Institutions”, coordinated by Hitit University and supported under the Erasmus+ KA220-HED Higher Education Cooperation Partnerships, involves partners from Spain, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and others. Such initiatives enable the university to expand its global knowledge base, compare practices across countries and contribute to the dissemination of effective models worldwide.

17.2.5 Collaboration with NGOs for the SDGs

A cooperation protocol has been signed between the Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Hitit University to facilitate the mutual use of know-how and joint R&D and P&D activities between the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Inc. and Çorum Teknokent. The signed protocol aims to strengthen cooperation by fostering dialogue and trust between Çorum Teknokent and Hitit TTO Inc.; to facilitate the mutual use of the parties' existing resources and knowledge; to achieve quality and efficiency-enhancing results by providing mutual contributions in new technology and process development; and to undertake joint projects within the framework of institutional requirements and to ensure the continuity of these efforts.

At our university, courses addressing sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals constitute an important part of undergraduate and graduate education programs.

17.4.3 Education in society for the SDGs

Our university adopts a lifelong learning approach by providing educational activities open to alumni, local communities, and disadvantaged groups. Within this framework, the “Hitit Mothers’ University” project supports women’s access to knowledge, personal development, and social participation. Through the programme, participants receive training in areas such as health, family communication, psychology, environmental awareness, technology use, and handicrafts. This initiative encourages women to re-engage with education and serves as a model for promoting gender equality, strengthening family structures, and spreading awareness of sustainable development.

17.4.4 Measuring sustainability literacy

Our students' sustainability literacy is assessed through midterm and final exams for relevant courses. Furthermore, the "Sustainability Literacy and Awareness Assessment" is available under the "Sustainable Hitit" heading in the "Assessment" tab on our university's sustainability website. This assessment measures the sustainability literacy of not only our students but also our academic and administrative staff.
