16.2.4 Participatory bodies for stakeholder engagement

Our university's stakeholder engagement is ensured through various participatory bodies. These bodies actively contribute to our university's management processes and strengthen decision-making mechanisms by taking into account stakeholder opinions and suggestions. Participatory bodies play a crucial role in achieving our university's sustainable development goals in line with its mission and vision.

16.2.5 University's anti-corruption and anti-bribery policies

Our university publishes its institutional principles and commitments relating to organised crime, corruption and bribery. In this context, the internal regulations file includes a provision defining “Corruption: Any criminal activity conducted intentionally for personal gain.” Through this document, the university establishes a governance approach that supports ethical principles, transparency and accountability, and communicates its stance clearly to staff, students and all stakeholders.

16.2.7 Publication of financial data

Our university holds an application for regular publication of its financial data in line with principles of financial transparency and accountability. For example, in the 2024 Annual Administrative Activity Report, financial data such as budget implementation results, cash-flow statements and balance sheets are made publicly available.

16.3.1 Providing expert advice to the government

Various experts at our university collaborate with government institutions to contribute to an effective and coordinated fight against drugs. Hitit University has been designated as the responsible institution for activities 1 and 5 within the scope of the Çorum Provincial Drug Action Plan.

16.3.2 Communication and training with policy makers

Our university provides awareness-raising, capacity-building and training programmes to policymakers, public institution managers and relevant organisations within the framework of combating violence against women. In this regard, the university’s representatives participate in technical board meetings, workshops and training sessions linked to the “Action Plan on Combating Violence Against Women (2022‑2025)” at the local level. Through these activities, the university contributes to governance processes and strengthens the information and implementation capacity of local policymakers in the fight against violence.

16.3.3 Participation in government research

Our university organizes the "Workshop on Strengthening the Socio-Economic Status of Women in Çorum" every year. Hosted by Hitit University's Center for Women and Family Issues Application and Research (HÜKAM), the second workshop was organized in cooperation with the Çorum Governorate, Çorum Municipality, and the Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The participants included Çorum Governor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zülkif Dağli, Hitit University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Öztürk, Vice Rector and HÜKAM Director Prof. Dr. Nurcan Baykam, and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Eşref Savaş Başçı. The aim of the workshop is to analyze the socio-economic problems, needs, and expectations of women, who play a significant role in the development of societies, with the university, public institutions, the municipality, and all stakeholders in Çorum, specifically in the context of development, and to initiate projects by setting targets to address these issues. It also emphasizes that women are the main actors in sustainable development.

16.3.4 Neutral platform for discussion of issues

Our university provides platforms where various political stakeholders can come together to discuss social issues in a neutral and safe environment. Within this framework, the “Workshop on Strengthening the Socio-Economic Status of Women in Çorum” brings together local authorities, public institutions, non-governmental organisations, academics, and professional chambers. During the workshop, participants openly discuss issues related to improving women’s socio-economic conditions, share solution proposals, and develop joint action plans. Such events demonstrate that the university supports a neutral and participatory discussion culture and contributes to social development and equality goals through collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
