The Sustainability, Social Responsibility, and Professional Ethics Student Club's "Women's Power and Solidarity" Panel Was Held
A significant event aimed at raising social awareness was successfully held at Hitit University. The "Women's Power and Solidarity" panel, organized by the Sustainability, Social Responsibility, and Professional Ethics Student Club in collaboration with the Social Sciences Vocational School's Finance, Banking, and Insurance Department and HÜKAM, took place on March 26, 2026.
The panel began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem, followed by an opening speech. The opening speech emphasized that women's empowerment is not merely an individual matter; it is also critically important for societal development, equal opportunities, and sustainable development. It was stated that women's more active and equal participation in education, work, and social life directly strengthens the economic and social structure of societies.
Important experiences regarding women's entrepreneurship were shared during the event. The panel speakers, Zeynep Çenesiz Yarımca, President of the TOBB Çorum Women Entrepreneurs Executive Board and President of the Çorum Municipality City Council Women's Assembly, and Ebrar Altıkardeş, shared the challenges they faced in their entrepreneurial journeys, their successes, and the experiences they gained with the participants. They particularly highlighted the problems women entrepreneurs face, such as access to finance, societal prejudices, and unequal opportunities, emphasizing the importance of societal support and well-informed individuals in this regard.
The panel continued with an interactive question-and-answer session; participants actively engaged by asking the speakers questions about topics they were curious about. At the end of the program, certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers for their contributions.
The panel, which aimed to raise awareness of the importance of strengthening women's roles in society, was followed with great interest by the participants and concluded successfully. The event is considered an important activity that strengthens university-community cooperation and increases awareness of sustainability and social responsibility.
