The Academic Staff Experience Survey is an important measurement and evaluation tool designed by Hitit University to systematically monitor the feedback of academic staff and to guide institutional development based on these data. In higher education institutions, such practices are generally conducted under the title of “academic staff satisfaction survey”; however, as a university, we prefer the concept of “experience” rather than “satisfaction.” This is because experience is not merely a final state, but a continuum of perceptions spread across a process, reflecting the multidimensional reality of academic life in a more comprehensive way.

This survey aims to measure the experiences of our faculty members during their academic activities within the university, to understand how they evaluate their working environments, and to identify the institutional development areas of our university based on these experiences. In this regard, the survey is administered online to all academic staff at least once a year.

The results of the survey are evaluated in an integrated manner within quality management and strategic planning processes.

The findings obtained are:

  • Detailed through faculty- and department-based reports,

  • Used to identify strengths and areas open to improvement,

  • Utilized to develop institution-wide solution-oriented improvement plans,

  • Used to initiate feedback-based development processes, and

  • Monitored in subsequent periods to track progress.

This method contributes to strengthening the sustainable quality culture of Hitit University as a learning and self-renewing institution.

The Academic Staff Experience Survey is a key component of Hitit University’s data-driven governance approach, which reinforces the academic structure of the university and ensures that the voices of academic staff are heard systematically. Through this survey, not only individual experiences but also institutional development areas become visible, allowing our university’s journey toward its strategic goals to advance with firmer steps and stronger academic participation.
