At Hitit University, three different student surveys are systematically administered for each course every semester. This practice aims to closely monitor educational processes and to track student participation, expectations, and experiences with a focus on continuous improvement. These surveys are conducted under three distinct titles:

Course Entry Survey

Course Exit Survey

Course Evaluation Survey

The purpose of the Course Entry and Course Exit Surveys is to objectively compare what students think about the course and what knowledge they possess at the beginning of the term with how their perceptions and knowledge levels have changed by the end of the term.

Through this approach:

Students’ initial motivation and their achievements at the end of the term become clearly visible,

The real impact of the learning process becomes measurable, and

The success of the course in terms of learning outcomes can be analyzed.

The Course Evaluation Survey, administered at the end of the term, does not focus on entry–exit comparison; instead, it measures various aspects such as the learning environment, instructor effectiveness, content quality, course materials, communication, and overall satisfaction. This survey provides a multidimensional understanding of students’ experiences with the course.

By directly comparing the beginning and end points, learning outcomes are clearly determined. Student perceptions of each course are analyzed transparently and in a data-driven manner. The data obtained provide direct feedback on course planning, materials, and teaching methods. The results also serve as a valuable data source for accreditation, self-evaluation, and quality assurance processes.

Hitit University’s multi-layered survey approach ensures clear traceability at the levels of process, output, and outcome. While the entry–exit model measures learning development, the course evaluation surveys collect data on teaching quality. In this way, comprehensive evaluations are obtained for each course, and these data directly contribute to continuous improvement, quality assurance, and strategic planning processes.
