The University Experience Survey is a data-driven internal evaluation study designed to comprehensively understand the experiences of students studying at Hitit University regarding university life. This practice has been restructured in line with the specific needs of our university, inspired by the Türkiye University Experience Survey (TÜDA) model implemented nationally by the Council of Higher Education. Conducted regularly every year, this survey aims to identify the university’s strengths and areas for improvement through students’ opinions and evaluations, thereby supporting quality-focused decision-making processes.
Within the scope of this study, not only students’ in-class experiences but also their experiences in areas such as social life, digital infrastructure, career support, administrative services, and overall satisfaction are assessed. Hitit University regards this survey not merely as a satisfaction questionnaire, but as an integral part of the institutional learning and continuous improvement process.
The University Experience Survey is administered once a year online, with the participation of active students from all academic units. The responses provided by students are analyzed at the institutional level, and the resulting data are linked to the strategic plan, quality indicators, and unit performance reports, thus being integrated into the continuous improvement processes. The results of the study are used not only to produce statistical data but also to directly guide continuous improvement activities.
Findings obtained from the survey are:
Shared with relevant units,
Used to develop action plans for areas open to improvement,
Followed by a monitoring process, and
Evaluated in subsequent surveys to track progress and change over time.
Through this cycle, a learning and developing university culture is being built—one that integrates student feedback into governance processes.
The University Experience Survey is positioned within Hitit University’s quality assurance approach not only as a monitoring tool but also as a mechanism for development, interaction, and transformation. Driven by a student-centered perspective, this practice guides institutional progress and supports a data-based and participatory higher education management approach fully aligned with the university’s strategic goals.
